Ambulatory Infusion Center
Valley’s Ambulatory Infusion Center helps patients who require infusions of chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood products or other therapies on an outpatient basis. The Center consists of more than 20 treatment areas; four of which are private rooms. The Center is overseen by a Medical Oncologist and an Oncology Certified Nurse Director.
Barrett's Esophagus and GERD
The Valley Hospital Center for Barrett's Esophagus and GERD provides cutting-edge diagnostic, treatment, and management services for patients with Barrett's Esophagus, and GERD. Through our research studies, we aim to understand how Barrett's Esophagus occurs, how we can enhance the treatments we offer, and how we can provide our patients with improved clinical outcomes.
Brain & Spine Radiosurgery
The Valley Hospital’s Blumenthal Cancer Center has established The Institute for Brain and Spine Radiosurgery for patients with malignant and benign conditions of the brain and spinal cord.
The Valley Hospital Breast Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR), making it one of only two hospital-based breast imaging centers in Bergen County to receive the designation.
When facing a cancer diagnosis, patients and their families face many new challenges, including financial planning and insurance questions. At the Blumenthal Cancer Center, our Patient Financial Advocate counsels patients and families on insurance benefits and copayments, and provides assistance on accessing financial resources. The Patient Financial Advocate works with staff to identify patients who are eligible to benefit from charity care, marketplace insurance, drug replacement, or funds from The Valley Hospital Foundation. The Center for Advanced Gastrointestinal (GI) Diseases is New Jersey’s foremost center for the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant tumors and other conditions of the GI system, including those affecting the pancreas, liver and bile ducts (hepatobiliary), stomach, esophagus, small intestine, colon/rectum, and appendix.
The Valley Hospital Cancer Genetics Program provides individualized family history analysis, risk evaluation and counseling for individuals who have a family history of cancer.

At the Blumenthal Cancer Center, primary brain cancer represented 1.7 percent of all newly diagnosed cancer cases in 2009, a percentage that is higher than the percentage for New Jersey (1.4 %) and the nation (1.5 percent). Our Neuro-Oncology Disease Management Team focuses on providing multidisciplinary care using state-of-the-art imaging technology.

Seed Implant Therapy
A distinguishing characteristic of Valley’s cancer program is the availability and quality of radiation seed implant therapy. Valley has attracted patients from around the world as a result of its unique prostate implant program.
Support Services and Programs
Valley’s Oncology Social Workers can make coping easier. Through individual, family and group counseling, they help patients feel more in control and better able to make decisions. Educational information is provided to help patients become better informed about their illness. Oncology Nurses and Social Workers also facilitate six support groups.
Surgical oncology is the subspecialty that encompasses the surgical treatment and management of patients with cancer. Surgical oncologists use many different surgical techniques to treat cancer, including open surgery, minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, palliative treatments, radiofrequency ablation, and adjunct therapies.
TomoTherapy optimizes radiation therapy by delivering an advanced form of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) with unprecedented precision. This enables more accurate and more precise treatment of the tumor, while minimizing the dose to surrounding healthy tissue.
The Urologic Oncology Center
The Urologic Oncology Center brings together a multifaceted team of experts led by Medical Director Howard Frey, M.D. The team consists of a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, surgeon, urologist, registered dietitian, nurse, and social worker. This team provides an integrated approach to treating prostate, bladder, and renal cancer.
